Clint Brown began his formal training at Layton School of Art in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He obtained a bachelor of fine arts degree from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, a master of arts in sculpture from the University of Wyoming at Laramie, and a master of fine arts from the University of Southern California.

He taught art at Seattle Pacific University before moving to Oregon State, where he taught for 33 years. He was awarded a Fulbright Teaching Exchange and taught in Nottingham, England, for a year. He is professor emeritus of art at OSU and author of the number-one figure drawing textbook for college students in the United States.

His work has been shown continually throughout his career, nationally and internationally,
and he has recently begun a major public art commission for Oregon State University. He
will spend the summer of 2005 teaching drawing in Rome as part of a multi-university study
abroad program.
