This dramatic work captures and expresses the energy and dynamics of physical exercise and recreation activity. The final compositions were completed after extensive sketches on-site of students in action. The rhythmic repetition and variations of the human form are the principle subject and unifying motif.

A system of running lines and circular shapes suggestive of recreational arenas also provides a unifying structure, linking a series of panels with its predominately horizontal movement.
Each panel is designed as a self-contained composition. Taken as a whole, the sequential arrangement of the eleven panels suggests graphically the movement and energy of the recreation facility and expresses the power and beauty of the active human form.
