Throughout Clint Brown's career, drawing the human figure has remained a continuing and renewing part of his artistic activity. As a life drawing teacher for more than 30 years, drawing the nude was readily available. He often drew alongside his students, demonstrating techniques or illustrating an aspect of human anatomy, but more often because it was a compelling response to the model's pose.

Although most of these drawings remain quite academic, they provided valuable reference material for working more freely from the imagination. Clint Brown is the author of Drawing from Life, a figure drawing textbook published by Wadsworth/Thompson Learning. See Publications link.

These text only webpages give a brief introduction about the artist and his major series of works. If you would like to see images of these works, please use the link to his Flash Website. The Flash site shows a sampling of Clint Brown's thematic series that is described throughout these pages.
